free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to
oppose what I believe wrong, and free to choose those who shall govern my
country.” - -The Rt. Hon. John Diefenbaker, Canadian Bill of Rights,
1960
“The whole judicial system is at issue, it's
worth more than one person.”--Serge Kujawa, Saskatchewan Crown
Prosecutor, 1991

This morning, I saw many pictures depicting the violence and
demonstrations at the Summit of the Americas in Quebec City, and
again I reflected why we must continue with our positioning of "we
are right and you are wrong" or viceversa.
I see the protesters' demonstrations as a Human Voice for change
and I see the leaders attending the Summit as an elitist group
planning for Free Trade for themselves and determining democracy for
everybody else. I am at a loss of words in describing what is
happening in our societies as money and concentration of power is
amassed by fewer and fewer people and corporations.
However, this quotation by Thomas Crum, author of 'The
Magic of Conflict' should help us understand the possible magic of
the conflicts we are witnessing today
"When one is willing to see all conflicts-whether
physical, emotional, or mental-as dances of energy, and to
accept them and to blend with them, options and opportunities
for successful resolution emerge, powerfully and elegantly."
