I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, and free to choose those who shall govern my country.” - -The Rt. Hon. John Diefenbaker, Canadian Bill of Rights, 1960

The whole judicial system is at issue, it's worth more than one person.”--Serge Kujawa, Saskatchewan Crown Prosecutor, 1991

The system is not more worth than one person's rights.”--Mario deSantis, 2002

"We need to say to the elites, particularly when they tell us that we must obey market forces, or that certain degradations of our life are inevitable: Gentlemen, we're the ones that put you where you are, and we don't want this from you anymore."-- John Ralston Saul

At a time we deal with the most divided societies, at home and in the world, the Bush Administration wants to privatize 850,000 federal jobs.

I heard this news yesterday after I found out that the Berlusconi's government in Italy is privatizing cafeterias and dormitories at Italian universities while at the same time arresting twenty anti global activists.

What seems to be just local political and economic issues to the ordinary citizen is really a concocted political and economic agenda of the world plutocrats. We should be concerned about the raising of poverty and the loss of medical coverage and making sure that working families have living wages and instead plutocrats want to lower the governmental cost for many governmental routine duties like mowing lawns, picking up trash, making eyeglasses and printing paychecks. The result is to create 850,000 low cost jobs on behalf of rich businesses.

The Homeland Security bill in the United States is receiving Congressional approval and this new legislation includes the governmental right to discretionally hire and fire union federal employees.

Yesterday, I also heard Toronto Dominion bank economist Craig Alexander saying that

"New parents who want their children to have a basic university education should be putting away $200 to $300 a month for the next 18 years."

All of these events to cut costs, save money, and save our lives are all claimed in the name of democracy.

Do you remember how the implementation of new technologies and reform in Saskatchewan health care helped to cut costs, to save money, and to save lives? Well, we are still experiencing health reform but instead to cut costs, to save money and to save lives, we have higher compensations for dictatorial health executives, spend more money, and cut people's lives.

Do you see the convergence of moneyed interests in governments, business, and the experts' think tanks? And do you see the trend of a police state as the U.S. is contemplating a centralized data base for every citizen and as Canada is tossing the idea of a national ID card?

Brilliant man, first in his class at the Naval Academy, later earned a doctorate in physics, rose to national security adviser under President Ronald Reagan. He had this brilliant idea of secretly selling missiles to Iran to pay ransom for hostages, and with the illicit proceeds to illegally support contras in Nicaragua.
