"How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world."--Anne Frank

Today we hear CBS anchor Dan Rather telling us that one of his assistants has tested positive for anthrax and he also tells us that the biggest problem today is not anthrax but fear. I also hear that Pakistan and India are exchanging gunfire in Kashmir, that an eleven year old Palestinian school girl has been accidentally killed by Israeli's gunfire while three more Palestinians have been purposely targeted in a car explosion, just one day after Israel promised revenge for the assassination of tourism minister Rehavam Zeevi. In the meantime, Afghanistan is being bombed by our coalition forces and CNN talking head Paula Zahn is questioning the exact body count of some 200 innocent victims due to the collateral and expected damage for the high-tech mistakes in targeting the Taliban's strategic positions.

It is a nightmare of violence triggering more violence in a vicious cycle. And our leaders are not doing their job as they tell us this war on terrorism will take years. And this cycle of violence becomes more acute as secretary of defense Donald Rumsfeld discounts a possible de-coalition against terrorism by saying that the mission defines the coalition and the coalition doesn't define the mission; so here we have for sure a future de-coalition of the original coalition as our mission, while undefined, follows its strategic targeting course. Our leaders are giving us the targeting numbers, and they have the military support to make sure, either with the stick or the carrot, that their numbers stick.
