"All the answers, everything needed to dismantle Osama bin
Laden's organisation, can be found in Saudi Arabia... the main
obstacles to investigating Islamic terrorism were U.S. oil corporate
interests and the role played by Saudi Arabia"--by John
O'Neill, FBI Special Agent
In writing her 13 page letter directed to Robert Mueller,
Director of the FBI, the twenty one year FBI veteran Coleen Rowley
had to invoke the whistle blower legislation in order to protect her
professional career and her family.
In this letter, Rowley accuses the FBI headquarters in Washington
of corrupting her request for surveillance and search warrants of
terrorist Zacarias Moussaoui, charged the FBI of mishandling
relevant information on terrorism, and charged the FBI of
incompetence as top FBI bureaucrats are more concerned with their
promotion than doing their job in fighting the threats posed by
terrorism. In the end, Coleen Rowley suggests that if the FBI would
have done its job, the extent of the calamity of the 9-11 attacks
would not have occurred.
Rowley and her colleagues at the Minneapolis office were so
disappointed by the roadblocks set up by the Washington headquarters
that they began to refer their concerns on terrorism to the CIA; as
a consequence, prior to the 9-11 attacks, both the CIA and the FBI
had shared the information related to terrorist Zacarias Moussaoui
taking flight instructions on how to steer a Boeing 747 in the air
and with no interest on either taking off or landing the plane.
In the meantime, at the FBI office in Phoenix, special agent
Kenneth Williams wrote a memo on July 10 referring to the
possibility that Al-Qaeda operatives were attending U.S. flight
schools. This memo was received by John O'Neill, director of
counterterrorism at the FBI office in New York, and this same memo
ended up on the desk of Dave Frasca, head of the FBI's
radical-fundamentalist unit in Washington.
Williams discussed his concerns of Al-Qaeda operative attending
US flight schools with CIA agents as well. It is interesting to
notice that all the mainstream media reports that Rowley's memo
requesting surveillance and search warrants of terrorist Zacarias
Moussaoui, and William's memo concerning Al-Qaeda operatives
attending US flight schools, both ended up on Dave Frasca's desk at
the Washington headquarters. It appears to me that mainstream media
is deliberately ignoring the role of FBI Special Agent John O'Neill,
who later died in the attack of 9-11 at the World Trade Ceneter on
his second day of his new job after resigning from the FBI in later
August.
We must know that in the Summer of 2001 John O'Neill had at least
two interviews with Jean-Charles Brisard, coauthor with Guillaume
Dasquié of the book "Bin Laden: the hidden truth." In this book, the
authors contend that the Bush administration blocked the FBI's
investigation into bin Laden to protect the business relationships
between the Saudi's Royal entourage and the Bush's family. And this
brings the question: why the English version of this book is not
available in the U.S or Canada?
An independent investigation should take place into the events
preceding the 9-11 attacks, and at the same time our politicians and
main stream media should place an immediate attention to the
credible documented work on terrorism by Greg Palast, Jean-Charles
Brisardand and Guillaume Dasquié.
