"The financial power of society awaits the rise of
tough-minded social inventors, investing risk-takers with the
courage to take control of their own money"--William Greider,
Political Journalist
As I read the news and try to connect the dots of the events of
our time, past and present, I really get exasperated. I can't
believe the extent of destruction caused by the exportation of
American Capitalism around the world. But two recurring fundamental
societal problems come to my mind as I digest the daily news: GREED
and HYPOCRISY, as to say that the free marketeering leaders cover up
their greedy public policies with their hypocritical behaviour.
I began to express my frustrations of a world for the few and
privileged as I criticized the policies of Romanow's government in
Saskatchewan. Sadly, I concluded at the time that we must think for
ourselves before we ever trust our Saskatchewan's government. The
story is the same all over the world, as this world has been plagued
by the sickness of American Capitalism characterized by its Military
Industrial Complex. On several occasions I have mentioned the
Carlyle Group, a private investment firm, which makes bloody money
out of the business confluence of government, industry and the
military.
Here are the names of the people belonging to Carlyle Canada::
James A. Baker III ; Laurent Beaudoin; Frank C. Carlucci;
Peter J.G. Bentley; Andre Bisson; Paul G. Desmarais; Allan E.
Gotlieb; E. Peter Lougheed; Frank McKinna; David P. O'Brien;
Hartley T. Richardson; William Sinclair; Lynton R. Wilson
Do you recognize any of these hypocritical people who preach
peace and a fair market while supporting wars and a belligerent Free
Market?
This Carlyle Group is a sickening enterprise and includes the
membership of Russian billionaire and philanthropic Mikhail B.
Khodorkovsky, former CEO of Yuko's company and currently in a
Moscow's jail for charges of corruption, and Filipino Fidel V.
Ramos, former president of the Philippines and current blamer of
rich nations' unfair trade practices. In my last article I
identified Lord Black's Hollinger International as an umbrella
organization connecting many of the few and privileged of this world
and now I hear that the Pentagon's bankers, an oxymoron for the
Carlyle Group, may be bailing out Lord Black.
GREED and HYPOCRISY lead us to never ending WARS and it is time
to change this bloody moneyed American Capitalism so that we can
create a shared Capitalism with a social soul and which is generous,
risk taking and conducive to peace.
