I am a Canadian, free to speak without fear, free to worship in my own way, free to stand for what I think right, free to oppose what I believe wrong, and free to choose those who shall govern my country.” - -The Rt. Hon. John Diefenbaker, Canadian Bill of Rights, 1960

The whole judicial system is at issue, it's worth more than one person.”--Serge Kujawa, Saskatchewan Crown Prosecutor, 1991

"It's the story of a judicial system that rushes in where angels fear to tread."--Sarah Gibb, journalist[1]

It was only few days ago that I pointed out the derelict mentality to find our truths in the results of never ending opinion polls. One feature of opinion polls is that they divide the respondents and therefore they should not be used as a democratic expression for setting public policies[2].

We must have plenty of patience and we must not give up our own understanding and our own thinking when confronted with people who are in a position of influence and who have appeared to have lost their sanity. So today, you can really need to appreciate the way I felt when I came across the Globe and Mail’s opinion poll:

"Which are more important, the rights of the individual or the right of society?"

But this is not all.

Saskatchewan Minister of Justice Frank Quennell w takes a position on a case before the court by writing a letter to The StarPhoenix[3]. Quennel has really no clue of what justice means and he uses his authority to further skew for the worse the Saskatchewan Justice system.

We are still stuck with the judicial mentality of the 70ies as expressed by Crown prosecutor Serge Kujava

"the whole judicial system is at issue -- it's worth more than one person,"

even if this one person, David Milgaard, happened to be innocent and was incarcerated for more than two decades.

What a disappointment Minister of Justice Frank Quennell, let’s hope that you and your careered friends can think justly for the future, but I have serious doubts about it.
