"The measure of success is not whether you have a tough
problem to deal with, but whether it is the same problem you had
last year."--John Foster Dulles
We, as normal people, are always in doubt and confused but, we
must have at the same time, the responsibility to strive for clarity
and look for our internal peace. When I first sit down to work on a
problem, I start with the understanding that I don't know anything
about it. Then, in an effort to concentrate on the problem, I make
sure that the desk is clean, the lightning is appropriate, paper,
pencils and computer are on hand, and then in another effort to
concentrate a bit more, I make coffee and then if I am prepared to
tackle the problem, we go on, otherwise I go to sleep. If we go on
with the problem then we read and re-read and re-re-read the
statement of the problem and I try to understand it by writing or
drawing anything on paper, writings or drawings I cannot even
understand myself thereafter. However, after some concerted efforts
and lots of confusion we are able to understand the problem and
solve it to the best of our abilities.
This morning I am confused as usual. I am so disappointed about
the rhetorical speeches of president George Bush that I have begun
to doubt of any shred of his sincerity, and again I have been
striving for clarity. Last night I read the article "When Will We
Resist? The US is Preparing to Attack the Arab World, While the
Arabs Whimper in Submission" by Edward Said and I reacquainted
myself with the big picture of the Middle East's predicament: Arab
people suffering under dictatorial regimes, while the American armed
forces position themselves to attack Iraq and liberate Iraqi oil for
the recovery of the American economy. Anyhow, the situation in the
Middle East reminds me of the Roman imperial policies of divide and
conquer, with the understanding that today's Roman empire is the new
world order of president Bush Inc.
Some
time ago, Timothy Shire, publisher of Ensign, described how the
American economy and social organization was so much dependent on
Gaaaaaassssss! Today, thinking about the bellicose stance of
president Bush to wage a war of the willing against Iraq, I must
stress all over again that Bush's war against Iraq is a war for oil,
and only oil. There is a new world order commanded by crooks, and
today Italian crook Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi is going to
meet his friend president Bush at the White House to concoct their
strategy for war. I am asking myself if we can trust crooks? No, we
cannot trust crooks, and this is what Nobel Peace Prize winner
Nelson Mandela has been saying today about president Bush:
One power with a president [Bush] who has no foresight and
cannot think properly, is now wanting to plunge the world into a
holocaust... All that (Bush) wants is Iraqi oil.
This morning I have read the article "Out of Gas: A Systems
Perspective on Potential Petroleum-Fuel Depletion" by Bill Harris,
and again I reinforced my conviction that president Bush Inc. wants
to attack Iraq because of its oil. Bill Harris writes:
The use of crude oil leads to increased GDP, which leads
to increased numbers of automobiles, which leads to increased
crude-oil usage.
President Bush has vowed in his state of the union address that
he wants to increase the GDP within the present power play of the
American military and oil industrial complex. I can further
understand the duplicity of president Bush Inc. as I read in the web
pages of Hubbert Peak of Oil Production:
The likelihood of a global crisis similar to that of 1973
is very high. The precise timing is dependent on the durability
of Saudi Arabia's pro-Western stance, and hence on the stability
of the current political regime there. This is because Saudi
Arabia is pumping more oil than it needs to, in response to
Western (mainly US) political pressure. In fact, it is highly
likely that if Saudi Arabia were to cut its oil output by 20%,
it would actually increase revenue from sales, as the resulting
supply shortfall would push prices up significantly. This must
be very tempting for a country whose debt to income ratio is
approximately 2:1... The only long term solution is to reduce
our dependence on cheap oil from the middle-East. This is an
entirely feasible thing to do, however it will require serious
concerted action on the part of government, industry, and the
financial sector.
What does president Bush do? Concoct a war against Iraq to
liberate its oil and enrich the top 1% (one percent) of Americans!
