"Damn Americans. I hate those bastards."
--Carolyn Parrish, MP Canada

"Unfortunately, the destiny of our region is crafted abroad. This is what we are seeing now: our future is being dictated by people outside, be it a dictator like Saddam on one side, or the Americans on the other."--Abdel-Moneim Said, director of the Al-Ahram Center for Political and Strategic Studies in Cairo

Some time ago, I perspectively framed Bush's obsession to attack Iraq as a Weapon of Mass Distraction (WMD). This president Bush is playing with the naivety of the American public and the conventional media is supporting this president by focusing on the manipulated results of supposed scientific opinion polls.

One ongoing and exasperating poll makes reference to the degree of the American support for an attack against Iraq so that Iraq may be disarmed at last.

The Bush administration is extremely deceptive when they assert they want to attack Iraq, liberate the Iraqi people and install democracy in the Middle East. There is no need to attack Iraq since Iraq is not an immediate threat to the United States or the world; there is no need to liberate the Iraqi people since they don't want war; and there is no need to install a democracy in the Middle East since democracy comes within the people and cannot be installed from an outside military attack and subsequent military occupation.

Now that I think reflectively, maybe there is the need for president Bush to retreat from his warmongering stance since he is perceived in the world as the highest threat to peace; maybe there is the need to liberate the American people as many American people suffer from poverty and have no health insurance; and maybe there is the need to restore democracy in the United States as crony capitalism has taken over the will of the people.

This Bush administration wants to liberate the Iraqi people by waging a war against these same Iraqi people. This posture is an absurdity, and yet the American people are buying into this war as marketed by the first Master of Business Administration president of the United States.

The Bush administration has gone mad, and for the interest of their own personal assets they want to wage a war against Iraq while they purposely ignore the threat from other sources. For example, this administration doesn't appreciate the threat to the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction in the world, and especially in the United States, as they are all intent upon maintaining their hegemonic position in terms of economic and military power.

This Bush administration wants to be ranked number one in the world while the safety of this same world is becoming gradually more precarious all the time.

I learn that Saudi Arabia will allow American forces to use their Prince Sultan air base and that they will increase their oil production in case of war against Iraq. However, the Bush administration is ignoring the fact that 15 of the 19 September 11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, the fact that Saudi Arabia is not a democracy, the fact that Saudi Arabia has been helping Al Qaeda, the fact that Saudi Arabia has been financially assisting the families of Palestinian suicide bombers, the fact that Osama Bin Laden is alive and dangerous.

This Bush administration is focusing on waging a war against Iraq for the sole purpose to create additional confusion and dangers in the world, and in fact it is only with more confusion and dangers that the Bush administration can assert its autocratic will, abroad and at home. If you want to be more confused it is enough to read the article "Sept. 11's Smoking Gun: The Many Faces of Saeed Sheikh."

There is more this Bush administration can do to save this world, and yet their focus is on the return of their personal assets in waging a war against Iraq.
